What are needle punch carpets?

Needle punch carpet is a floor covering sold in rolls or tiles. Made from polypropylene, needle punch carpet has a dense textile structure that makes it very easy to install. The back of the roll of needle punch carpet (called the backing) can be made of latex, felt or textile. It is laid directly on the floor and fixed with glue or even double-sided adhesive film.

The fibres are woven by special needles and the covering is made up of several layers and sub-layers of polyester, wool or other synthetic and recyclable materials. This manufacturing method provides a compact, dense floor thanks to the short, thin appearance of needle punch carpet.

The various layers of textile fibres obtained in this way are bonded together, insulating the floor thermally and acoustically.
