What are needle-punched carpets?
Needle-punched carpet is a floor covering sold in rolls or tiles. Made from polypropylene, needle-punched carpet has a dense textile structure that makes it very easy to install. The back of the roll of needle-punched carpet (called the backing) can be made of latex, felt or textile. It is laid directly on the floor and fixed with glue or even double-sided adhesive film.
The fibres are woven by special needles and the covering is made up of several layers and sub-layers of polyester, wool or other synthetic and recyclable materials. This manufacturing method provides a compact, dense floor thanks to the short, thin appearance of needle-punched carpet.
The various layers of textile fibres obtained in this way are bonded together, insulating the floor thermally and acoustically.
What are the benefits of needle-punched carpet?
Needle-punched carpet is ideal for both indoor and outdoor events. Waterproof, it avoids puddles of stagnant water and requires no major maintenance work. It can be adapted to any theme and in any colour to match the colours of the event, the stand, the decoration and the accessories on the premises.
Needle-punched carpet is highly resistant to foot traffic. In fact, it imitates natural floors perfectly (woollen carpets, velvet, etc) or even clay (a red version is used at Rolland Garros) or green grass. Needle-punched carpet also has excellent acoustic properties. It isolates office workers from the sound of their footsteps, creating serene spaces conducive to concentration.
Simple to upkeep, it delivers outstanding quality while bestowing your offices with a highly valued design and aesthetic allure. Needle-punched carpets can be maintained using the same methods as other types of carpets: with dry powder to absorb dirt, stain-removing spray for deep cleaning of textile fibres, or shampoo, which effectively penetrates polyamide fibres with its foam. You can also use an injection-extraction device or a steam cleaner.
